While many organizations do already use non-financial indicators to guide their company, these indicators often do not appear in annual reports.On March 18th Bart Eikelenboom successfully defended his PhD thesis at Nyenrode Business University. The thesis is called “The power of organizational capabilities: The influence of organizational architecture on strategic performance of business units in Dutch headquartered multinationals”. In this dissertation he proves the existence of a direct relationship between MeyerMonitor's Gap-Index™ and financial performance.
In our experience, defining corporate strategy is in many ways the easy part. The real difficulties come when executing that very strategy. in essence, there are four key success factors for management to deliver. Employees must be objectively managed rather than left in isolation. A clear and inspiring corporate ambition must be shared across the workforce.
